Cracker Barrell time after Church
Bailey and Maiya
Now it is time to head to the Kolkata airport and head to Delhi!! We got to the airport a little too early but it was ok. We got lots of stares!!! The kind that where you think the person can see thru you,LOL. I guess they were just really curious. This day was very tiring. We flew kingfisher and Maiya did good, she slept! Then we got to Delhi and boy was it HOT!! So hot I felt like I couldn't breathe the air in!!
Then someone trys to take our luggage, but then the hotel driver from the Hyatt Suresh comes to our rescue!! We got to the Hyatt and checked in and ordered room service while Maiya slept!! Then we got to meet April and her family and their friends from India. We even got some pictures that Darin took. Then we got ready and headed to the medical!! Personally I wouldn't go back to the doctor we chose. Different people have different experiences. So you just don't know how it will go,it is different for everyone. The India culture just goes with the flow. That can be good and bad, either way.
But we finally got the 6 shots and left. In the end,the doctor was nice as he was leaving for the day. I guess they finally realized our patience was stronger then their act, so I guess they decided to end up being nice.
This was a emotional day for both of us and Maiya was constipated. The only sign of greiving that we have seen. But that is all cleared up now thank goodness.
This hotel is definate first class and we are not use to this kinda atmopshere. But we feel safe here at the Hyatt and it is handy. They are so friendly here, but that smile is cause they are wanting a TIP!! Maybe not everyone, but most all. People back home do stuff for you just to be nice from their heart, that is the difference.
In Delhi we have seen people who I am sure have more then enough and yet cannot break a smile! You see homeless sleeping on the sidewalks. Kids packing kids and begging from car to car. The people who are homeless look so content and just living life. Their are those who look so sad. Then you have the rich who don't even notice that homeless man on the side of the road. All this mixed in with someone riding a elephant down the street, traffic bumper to bumper, heat, and people hanging out from corner to corner. Life being lived in the middle of the city.
We bought a few things here at the Hyatt shopping area, some clothes and scarfs.
We just did not feel safe shopping down town at the markets.
The continental breakfast is nice here. Nicer then just cereal and donuts!
We have had lots of rest time here at the Hyatt which has been great. Tuesday we did nothing! Wed was visa day,we got in and our in no time about a 1 hour and 15 minutes tops!! Shane went back at 3 to pick it up and we had a nice lady that did our interview and all.
During this trip we have had so much peace and we are so thankful to the LORD! Can't wait to fly home!! Speaking of flying,we are so tired of flying,we don't care if we ever fly again.!!!!!!
Lastly I am gonna stop here for the trip blogging and leave you with this...
We are so so thankful for our daughter Maiya who was destined for us and to come from Kolkata to Kentucky. She is simply a joy, from the city of joy... Kolkata,India.
This journey has been such a blessing from Dillon staff to families and friends we have met and hope to meet one day. Lately... I find myself missing the orphanage, the nice Ayahs, and India. Maybe I am grieving the good in India that we saw for Maiya? Bizarre I know.
We are so blessed beyond words to now be the Fenwick Five! Stay tuned as I will be starting another chapter of our lives here. I am leaving you with some recent HOME SWEET HOME PICTUES!! Have a great summer!
Today is Bailey's last day of school!! YEHAW!!:)
Something just so neat,Maiya's birthmark on her hand...Shane noticed,it is in the shape of slightly fat KY! Something huh?:)
SUMMER TIME HERE WE COME!! blogger is being slow more pictures later

I just refound your blog and am thrilled to see a happy, laughing Maiya playing with her brothers! What an absolute beauty she is. It was such a long journey Gidget, especially there at the end! And now it's all worth it, and you have your cherished family of five. Hugs to you! Emily
Gidget, I've loved reading about your adventures in India. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Maiya is the cutest little sweety...she looks soooo tiny. What a great smile she has, it looks like she is loving her new brothers. Enjoy your summer as a family of 5.
If you have time further down the road, I'd love to hear more about the doctor visit . . . I'm already wondering about the shots. We didn't have to do that with Anya Rashi, and also got to do our embassy appt. before we picked her up. The travel is really different now, and I love hearing about it from your perspective! Thanks, Gidget.
